Spotting Hermann's tortoises in Corsica
The Hermann's tortoise (Testudo hermanni) is the only land tortoise native to France. In Corsica, and particularly in the Porto-Vecchio area, it finds an ideal habitat. Here is how to observe it respectfully from our residence.
La Cupulatta: symbol of our studio
"Cupulatta" means tortoise in the Corsican language. The name was not chosen by chance: a Hermann's tortoise has made its home in the residence gardens and reminds us every day of the importance of preserving this exceptional environment.
This species, classified as "vulnerable" by the IUCN, is strictly protected. Its presence is testament to the ecological quality of our site, located near the ZNIEFF of Lecci.
